Project Description
In the heart of Paris’s 11th arrondissement, this energy-efficiency renovation project for a three-storey house focuses on improving the atmosphere, the quality of spaces and the use of light. Spaces are organized around a cul-de-sac courtyard transformed into a central, planted patio. The house, U-shaped around the patio, comprises a first floor with double-height spaces, a basement and two two-storey wings housing four bedrooms.
Three new large glass openings in the façade create visual continuity between the patio and a summer lounge. A winter lounge, oriented towards an ornamental wooden library, offers a warm atmosphere. An open kitchen, separated by a semi-transparent wall, links harmoniously with the glass-roofed dining room, reinforcing the transparency and fluidity of the spaces.
The central patio, richly planted with greenery, becomes the green heart of the house, providing privacy and serenity while promoting urban biodiversity and oxygenation of interior spaces on all floors. The use of warm colors and noble materials such as wood and stone helps to create a warm, sunny atmosphere, characterized by warm, earthy tones reminiscent of coastal landscapes.
